Study in Mexico - Spanish Language & Mexican Culture (in Spanish)
Universidad de Guanajuato is located in the capital of Mexico’s Guanajuato state. Nestled in a valley, the charming city of Guanajuato features narrow, winding streets, colonial-era plazas and beautiful architecture, including the central Basilica Colegiata de Nuestra Señora de Guanajuato. Guanajuato is also home to the famous Festival Cervantino, an annual cultural event that hosts artists from all over the world. Due to its cultural and historic significance, Guanajuato has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Universidad de Guanajuato is a public higher education institution that traces its origins back to 1732. Today, it is a major research institution focused on increasing, preserving and sharing knowledge that contributes not only to their students’ personal development, but also to a democratic, just and free society. The university is ranked among the top 100 universities in Latin America, and among the top 20 universities in Mexico.
ISEP students immerse themselves in Mexican culture and daily life by taking university classes with local students and living in student housing with local and international students (homestays may be available). The university has an active student body, and ISEP students can participate in sports teams, cultural activities and student groups. Internships and volunteering opportunities are also available. Excursions are planned each semester, and the university has a “buddy system” to help ISEP students meet local students and adjust to life in Guanajuato!
The full-year language immersion program is a perfect fit for students who want to focus on improving their Spanish language skills and also experience full immersion in classes with local students.
