Summer in Prague (in English) - ISEP Direct
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
• Study in the heart of Central Europe at the University of New York in Prague, a historic city known for Gothic architecture, vibrant café culture, and easy access to regional travel.
• Earn 4-8 credits through English-taught courses in business, communication and media, English language and literature, social science, and psychology.
• Choose a 5- or 8-week session, with one course included in the program fee and the option to add a second course for additional credit.
LIFE ABROAD
Spend your summer in Prague, a budget-friendly and culturally rich European capital where medieval streets meet modern student life. Between classes, explore riverside parks, historic squares, and thriving art and cafe scenes, and on weekends, take advantage of your central location to visit European cities with ease!
Experience & Cultural Engagement
Arrive in Prague and receive immediate support with airport pickup on the designated arrival day, helping you settle in smoothly. During orientation, you’ll learn about academic expectations, campus resources, and receive a crash course in Czech language and culture, giving you practical insight into daily life before classes begin. If you are curious about the language beyond the crash course, you can pair up with a Czech student through the International Friends Club for conversation exchange.
You’ll have access to the services that support your academic goals through the International Students Office, counseling center, and writing lab, as well as free access to facilities like the library, gym, and Podoli – an indoor and outdoor pool club for students. Spend weekends taking optional trips organized by the International Friends Club or use your included local transportation pass to explore museums and beer gardens, or attend seasonal music festivals like Bohemia JazzFest or Prague Summer Nights.
Live & Dine
Live in Belgická Apartments with up to five other students, less than a five-minute walk from UNYP’s main campus. You can either stay in a furnished double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom that you share with one other student or pay an additional fee for a single room. With a shared kitchen in your apartment, you can cook with roommates or head to nearby cafés and neighborhood restaurants to try traditional Czech favorites like hearty goulash, grilled sausage, chimney cake, or sweet Czech pancakes.
Explore Prague
Stay close to home and wander medieval streets, climb up to castle views, or spend slow afternoons along the Vltava River. When you’re ready to go farther, Prague’s central location makes it easy to hop on a train or bus to Vienna, Budapest, Kraków, or Berlin for the weekend.
