PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Students can choose from over 50 academic programs at Dean, and there are opportunities to participate in our Honors Program for high-achieving students.

Boston is home to a friendly, diverse and multi-cultured community which helps to make everyone feel at home. When you're not exploring Boston, enjoy beautiful nature or spend an afternoon in the USA's oldest public library, with its first books donated by Benjamin Franklin in 1790!

With 90% of students living on campus, Dean offers a thriving residential experience. International students are expected to live on campus. Our 13 residence halls are run by professional staff and student community advisors who organize activities to help students connect. The meal plan provides unlimited access to our main dining facility, where a variety of food options are available, including accommodations for special dietary needs. EXPERIENCE
Dean’s campus is a fun and vibrant community. Our student activities staff regularly schedules guest speakers, talent nights, comedians and other entertainment activities. Dean also offers a wide variety of dance and theatre events, as well as athletic events, throughout the year. EXPLORE
Located in Franklin, MA, ranked the second safest city in the U.S., Dean offers a quintessential New England college experience with easy access to all the activities of a big city. Franklin is located 56 km (35 miles) from Boston, known as America’s college town, just 50 minutes by train or car. The rail station is just a five-minute walk from campus and provides frequent train service to Boston. New York City is only three and a half hours away, perfect for a weekend trip of sightseeing, experiencing the food scene and immersing yourself in arts and culture.
Boston’s Logan International Airport and the beaches of Cape Cod are both located about an hour from campus. The mountains of the Berkshires, Vermont and New Hampshire are all easily accessible for a weekend of hiking, skiing or camping.
Sports fans can take in a Major League Soccer or NFL game at nearby Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Revolution and the New England Patriots, just 20 minutes from campus. There are also plenty of restaurants and stores in close proximity to the campus, and the Wrentham Outlet Mall is just 10 minutes away.
VOLUNTEER, INTERN, & RESEARCH
All students can participate in volunteer opportunities on campus or in the local community through student groups and organizations. Credit-bearing internships are available for students studying abroad for the full academic year. Undergraduate research opportunities are also available.
Course Description
Dean College offers undergraduate degree programs within four schools: School of the Arts, Dean R. Sanders '47 School of Business, Joan Phelps Palladino School of Dance and School of Liberal Arts. Whichever program you choose, you'll learn to think critically, communicate well, solve problems across multiple disciplines and prepare for a thriving career.

All courses are taught in English.
Credits Earned
Students who complete the program in good standing can expect to earn 12-15 U.S. Credit Hours. Each course will be worth approximately 3 credits.
Academics
Other Academic Conditions
Performing arts degrees (including dance and theater) require auditions to be admitted to the program. Follow the instructions for theatre auditions or dance auditions and attach them in the Documents tab of your ISEP application under the "Upload Additional Documents" section.
Duolingo English Test is accepted as an alternative to TOEFL/IELTS, with a minimum required score of 100.
In the case that students opt to participate in Dean athletics, they may be required to purchase additional insurance coverage out-of-pocket.
STUDENT SUCCESS RESOURCES
The Green Family Library Learning Commons is also home to the Theodore and Cynthia Berenson Center for Writing, Mathematics and Presentation Excellence, which offers:
• Access to peer, professional and faculty tutoring in a newly renovated, interactive space for supporting student success
• Quiet space to focus or work with tutors, meet with peers on group projects, practice individual and group presentations
Through our health and counseling services, professional and confidential health care is provided by highly skilled and caring team of nurse practitioners and a consulting physician. On-campus clinicians provide training, educational programs and outreach to promote positive mental health and wellness. In the event of an emergency, hospitals and pharmacies are located minutes from campus.
