Founded in 1889 and tucked between the Rocky Mountains and Colorado’s stunning high plains, UNC is a public doctoral research university committed to the success of its students, with more than 100 undergraduate programs and 113 graduate programs. The university’s just-right size, expert faculty, and tradition of research and hands-on learning gives students exceptional opportunities and a personalized education.

Our students are diverse and hard-working, and there’s no one “label” that defines them. More than one-third of UNC undergraduates are the first in their family to go to university and more than one-quarter are eligible for federal need-based financial aid. Of all UNC students, more than one-quarter identify as students of color.

There's a lot that makes life at UNC great. From sporting events to campus arts and other amenities — not to mention everything else Greeley and Colorado have in store — you're sure to find plenty of opportunities that will make you feel right at home. There's a lot to do at UNC, from intramural sports to Frisbee golf, and with our unique Outdoor Pursuits program, you'll have easy access to Colorado's amazing outdoor adventures with trips, skills workshops, free gear rental and knowledgeable advice for planning and preparation.

UNC tends to attract students who are interested in studies that serve human and social needs, including elementary and secondary education. Applied sciences and business are also popular. Music, special education, communication disorders and theatrical arts are areas of particular strength. Research opportunities may be available for students who are proactive about seeking them out.

HOUSING

During official university breaks, such as winter break, spring break, and summer, certain residence halls may be closed and students may be asked to move to a temporary location elsewhere on campus. There may be additional charges incurred with this.

MEALS

Dinging halls close during vacations. ISEP Student Meal Plans include Dining Dollars that can be used during breaks at food convenience stores around campus. Meal benefits (minimum: 19 meals per week) from the official date of arrival through the last day of benefits, inclusive of all examination and vacation periods within the semester only.  Students coming for an academic year program that will remain at UNC over the winter holiday break are responsible for their own meals during that period.  The Center for International Education is closed for official holidays designated by the university.

Meals during vacation periods may not be available on campus, and students may need to make other arrangements.

*Calendar Year students are not eligible for ISEP housing or meal benefits over the summer break.

Tips for Finding Courses

Students should review the different colleges and degrees at UNCO to see what courses they are interested in. Most undergraduate level classes are available to ISEP students. Use the course catalog to research classes.

- Select the course catalogue for the upcoming semester you wish to study.

- On the right-hand side of the catalogue, click on "Undergraduate Programs" and "Bachelors Degrees" to see all of the degree programs offered at UNCO.

 - In each Degree description, you can review the degree requirements and the 4 year study plan. Each will have links to courses offered as part of those degrees. 3 US credits is generally equivalent to 6 ECTS.

Not every course will be taught each semester, so it's important to review which courses are availale for the semester you plan to attend.

- Review the schedule of courses for more information.

- Fall course schedules are typically made available in mid-March; Spring course schedules are typically made available in early October.

- For help reviewing available courses, please contact your ISEP Student Services Officer.

Course Restrictions

Enrollment in some business courses, journalism, some education courses and physical education may be limited due to high demand.

Nursing and Extended Campus courses are not available to ISEP students. Also, students should only cohose majors which are offered on campus, not online.

Some classes have an additional course and program fee which is not included in ISEP benefits. See a list of additional fees here. Additional fees will be charged to a student's account and are the responsibility of the student prior to the end of their program.

UNC accepts TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, Michigan, and GATEWAY (formerly English 3) as test of English proficiency.
