UNC is set on a 236-acre campus in Greeley, located 30 miles east of the Rocky Mountains and 50 miles north of Denver. Greeley is a mid-sized Western city. The community was founded in 1870, and named for famed newspaper editor Horace Greeley. There are symphony, jazz, rock and classical concerts; collegiate theater; museums, including a 19th-century pioneer village; and a university art gallery.
Extensive holdings are available in the Michener Library and the music library. Sports facilities include a weight room, swimming pools, an indoor track, outdoor playing fields and tennis courts. Intramural sports are offered every semester and welcome international students.
