PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) and the UPF Education Abroad Program have partnered to offer an International Relations Abroad program for undergraduate students. Addressed to students majoring in International Relations, Political Science, Legal Studies, Humanities, Economics or Journalism, this program aims to provide high quality teaching for students interested in increasing the understanding of today's world's challenges in the spheres of global politics, international relations and international security.

A European leader in graduate studies and advanced research within the framework of international studies, IBEI counts on excellent, well prepared international faculty to stimulate student's critical vision of globalization. Students can also combine courses from this program with courses in the Barcelona Program for Interdisciplinary Studies.

In addition to content-based courses, the International Relations Program includes the option to take language courses at all levels. Five different levels of Spanish classes are offered, from beginner to proficient and even Spanish for heritage speakers.

Students are invited to a wide variety of opportunities to interact with local students, engage in volunteering activities, and develop a true intercultural experience during their time in Barcelona. ISEP's programs in Barcelona also offer benefits above and beyond a typical ISEP program, including a dedicated onsite resident director

HOUSING

ISEP students are accommodated in Campus del Mar Residence Hall. The residence is in the famous neighborhood of La Barceloneta, within walking distance to the UPF campus. Rooms are double-occupancy and include an en-suite bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. Bedding packs can be purchased prior to arrival and include a weekly change of sheets and towels.

Meal benefits are not included in this program. Students will be expected to use their own funds for meals and budget accordingly. Students can ask their ISEP Student Services Coordinator for tips, as well as check out ISEP's resources for Budgeting for Study Abroad.

Program elective courses and information about Spanish language courses can be viewed below. ISEP highly encourages that students enroll in a Spanish language course during their time in Barcelona.
