PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

We’re a university where curiosity prevails, and where exploring new ways of thinking and pushing boundaries, isn’t just encouraged, it’s expected.

Join our global community of original thinkers and gain a unique experience within an academically challenging environment. We welcome students from around the world looking to study abroad for a semester or year.

Studying abroad at Essex gives you the academic freedom to gain an in-depth knowledge of your specialist area, or explore a new area of study – or both. The flexible study abroad programme gives you the freedom to select modules across multiple departments and take modules of all levels.

HOUSING

ISEP students will be accommodated in the North Towers apartments. Please note that there is an accommodation application form that students will need to fill out before they receive a housing offer. Only once students accept the offer can they secure housing.

MEALS

ISEP Exchange students will receive a meal stipend based on the cost of living for students in Colchester, which they can use to purchase groceries and cook meals in shared facilities. This stipend is issued once per semester and only after students open a UK bank account and provide this information to their host coordinator.

ISEP Direct students do not receive meal benefits and will be expected to use their own funds for meals.

All ISEP students will be expected to budget for their meals accordingly, and can ask their ISEP Student Services Coordinator for tips, as well as check out ISEP's resources for Budgeting for Study Abroad.
