Current student enrollment is approximately 42,000 across Kent State’s eight-campus system, with nearly 28,000 enrolled at the main campus.

Located in the Great lakes Region of Northeastern Ohio, the beautiful, tree-lined Kent campus is a landscaped suburban environment, covering approximately 866 acres. The Kent campus features over 100 buildings, as well as gardens, bike trails and open greenery. It ranks as the 11th safest campus in the United States and is also home to the world-renowned Liquid Crystal Institute, where liquid crystal technology was born.

Numerous social cultural, natural, recreational and entertainment attractions are within easy access of the campus. Travel throughout the region is easily managed by car, bus or plane. Kent is located 48km from Cleveland, 140km from Pittsburgh, 530km from Chicago, 550km from Washington D.C., 620km from New York City and 1061km from Boston. 

Numerous on-campus international organizations and clubs actively involve students in activities and gatherings that are designed to provide students with social support, guidance and a feeling of home. A short walk from campus, the city of Kent’s historic downtown boasts numerous restaurants, shops and stores, as well as a wealth of entertainment venues.

HOUSING

Housing is offered in a standard, two-person residence hall room. Students may choose a different room (single or double with private bathroom), but must pay the difference in cost. Courses in Fashion, Architecture, Interior Design, Nursing, and Aeronautics are not available to ISEP students. Students who request courses in these fields will not be considered for placement at this institution. For all other courses, exchange students must meet proper course pre-requisites. Course pre-requisites can be found within the course catalog. Course availability may vary by semester.

Some courses, such as Photography, have labratory fees that are not included in the ISEP benefits. 

Auditions are required for the following departments: Directing and Theatrical Production; Drama and Theatre Arts; Music Performance; and Dance. 

Online/web courses are, in most circumstances, not permitted per regulations. In the instance that a student is permitted to take a web course, the extra course fees are not included in the ISEP benefits. 

Courses in Managerial Marketing (MMTG courses) are not available to ISEP students. For students pursuing other coursework within the College of Business Administration, writing intensive courses (or WIC) are not recommended.

Course requests may be subject to enrollment capacity, pre-requisites, departmental review/approval, and other factors

Kent State is willing to accept Duolingo English test (score of 100) as an alternative to other English assessments such as TOEFL and IELTS.
