Kent State University is located in the Great lakes Region of Northeastern Ohio. The campus is a landscaped suburban environment, covering approximately 866 acres which house over 100 buildings, gardens, bike trails and open greenery. There are also thousands of additional acres of bogs, marshes and wildlife refuges adjacent to or near the campus.
It is easy to travel the region by car, bus or plane as Kent is located 48km from Cleveland, 140km from Pittsburgh, 530km from Chicago, 550km from Washington D.C., 620km from New York City and 1061km from Boston. The student enrollment is around 42,000, with just under 28,000 on the main campus.
International students have many opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities as there are more than 200 student organizations available, such as theatre, intramural athletics, choir and academic clubs.
