If you like to be at the heart of things, then you will love living in popular Sandby Hall. Classes, university facilities, shops, bars, and nightlife will be right at your doorstep. You will also enjoy a single room with plenty of storage space and your own bathroom.

Nottingham is Britain's culinary capital with more cafes, restaurants, and bars per square mile than anywhere else in the U.K. Feast on local specialties like Stilton cheese, pork pies, and Bramley apples or check out the independent food scene by visiting artisan coffee roasteries, tapas bars, and high-end restaurants. If staying in is more your style, you will have access to a shared kitchen and dining area in the residence hall. We recommend budgeting £150 per month for groceries and eating out.

NTU has a team of Student Exchange Buddies who have a great understanding of what it is like to be a new student at a new university. You can expect to meet these buddies around campus, including on city tours, in the Global Lounge (a social spot to connect with peers from around the world), and at welcome sessions.

Nottingham is home to many fabulous annual festivals, including the Festival of the Horse, the Robin Hood Festival (where you can walk through Sherwood Forest while pretending to be a character from an English folklore), the Goose Fair, and the Nottingham Comedy Festival.

Course Description
Nottingham Trent’s teaching and learning is ranked among the best in the UK and many of their programs are internationally recognized. The chart below represents some of the more common classes students have taken while studying abroad at NTU, but don’t let these limit your class choices! Options are available in Animal, Rural & Environmental Sciences; Art and Design; Law; Social Sciences; and others.
Credits Earned
Students who complete the program in good standing can expect to take at least 60 UK credits which ISEP recommends is the equivalent of 15 U.S. Credit Hours. Each class (module) is generally about 10-20 UK credits.

Keep in mind that when choosing classes, it is important to take all of them from within the same department. The Arts and Humanities offers the most term-over-term flexibility with their class (module) offerings. Make the most of your study abroad experience while forging ahead with your home university degree requirements!
Semester One (Fall Semester) Students: Students coming from North America should make a note of the term dates and consider that the examination period for Semester One extends into the start of January, overlapping with the start of Spring semester. Class instruction ends in mid-December and students may return home at this time. However, students are required to complete their exams during the established exam period in January. Students may make arrangements to take their exams from home, but are responsible for making all arrangements in advance and gathering materials required to take the exams during the established exam period.

**Students are responsible for staying until the end of the semester and are advised not to leave before the final date of their semester exams. It may be possible to arrange to sit for remote exams - students should speak to their ISEP Student Services Officer for more details. However, please be advised that neither ISEP nor NTU can guarantee an early departure, and note that leaving early may result in a failing exam grade and/or forfeit of credit.
Nottingham Trent University also accepts the following Cambridge exams for English language proficiency:
-C2 Proficiency (formerly known as Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)): 180 or above overall with minimum 162 in Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking
-C1 Advanced (formerly known as Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)): 169 or above overall with minimum 162 in Reading, Writing, LIstening & Speaking
