PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

• Live and study in the suburbs of Bangkok! Thammasat’s Rangsit campus provides a calm respite from the bustle of Bangkok, but a quick shuttle keeps city life accessible and convenient.

• One of Thailand’s oldest and most respected institutions, Thammasat University offers courses designed to prepare graduates to tackle a dynamic economy and society in the face of expanding globalization.

• Live and study with local Thai students on this traditional college campus, which offers great amenities like on-campus housing, fitness centers, dining halls, student activities, two libraries, and plenty of open space.

• The Rangsit campus is Thammasat’s largest campus, and home to Asia’s largest rooftop farm. The first of its kind, it is a public green space, food source, and outdoor classroom.

LIFE ABROAD

Enjoy the chill and relaxed campus vibe of Thammasat’s Rangsit campus while taking courses from one of the most competitive and prestigious institutions in Thailand! With dozens of subjects taught in English, expect a rigorous academic experience and classes with both Thai and international students.

LIVE

Choose to live in the campus dormitories or in pre-arranged off-campus apartments. Single and double rooms are available. ISEP Direct students will pay for their accommodations directly to the housing provider, and can expect to pay about $1,400 per semester. Learn more about on-campus and off-campus housing options here.

DINE

Thailand is known for its affordable and delicious street food, with fresh and fragrant flavors, rich tantalizing sauces, and complex spice blends. Enjoy fresh seafood, fusion food, and vegetarian meals. Thammasat has “canteens” that serve fresh and affordable food. Expect to spend about $900 USD a semester on food.

EXPERIENCE

Embrace sustainability while living in Rangsit! Thammasat’s Rangsit campus offers a free bike share service, covered bike paths, and free shuttles, and the campus dining halls serve food from the campus urban farm. Thammasat also has an active international office that organizes foot and bicycle tours, yoga, Thai massage classes, and more. On campus, many students speak English, so it’s easy to make friends with locals.

EXPLORE

Grab the university shuttle and you’ll be in central Bangkok in under an hour, where you can explore golden temples, ride in colorful tuk-tuks, and sample some of the world’s best cuisine! Be sure to explore the giant markets, like the Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the largest markets in the world. Plus, one of the best parts of studying in greater Bangkok is exploring the rest of Thailand and Southeast Asia! Train and bus tickets are very affordable, and flights are available to destinations like Phuket, Ho Chi Minh City, and Kuala Lumpur for $100 USD or less. Within Thailand, be sure to check out the beautiful beaches (the nearest one is about 2 hours away), historical sites, floating markets, waterfalls, and communities like Koh Kret.

THRIVE

The Rangsit campus offers gymnasiums, swimming pools, tennis courts, fitness centers, a skateboard park, and climbing wall. Thammasat University Hospital provides medical service for complex issues, and a health clinic on campus can assist with minor concerns. Counseling and support for students with disabilities are available.

What We Love About Thammasat University

The people, the food, and the deep respect for history and culture make studying in Thailand an unforgettable experience, and the Rangsit campus is a great spot for students who want to be close to Bangkok but not in the center of the city.

Other Academic Conditions

Classes are either in the form of seminars or lectures. Lecture classes are large, while seminars are intimate and encourage class participation. Students are required to attend classes regularly to pass their courses. The typical course load is three to six courses per semester, which equates to 15 to 17 hours of class per week. Each semester runs approximately 16 weeks long.

At Thammasat, you'll enroll in a specific program and take at least three courses within that program. You can take up to two more electives from any other program on your campus, but all your classes must be at the campus you are enrolled in.

To find courses from the current academic year you can visit this page. Thammasat offers these courses to degree-seeking students, so most should be offered regularly.

Note that it is not possible to take courses on both the Tha Prachan and Rangsit campus. Students must choose one.
