Thailand has a multifaceted personality with picturesque landscapes, rich cultural history, and tranquil Buddhist culture – all amidst a busy nightlight and exquisite cuisine. There may be a language barrier, but getting along with Thai people is nothing to worry about thanks to local’s sense of fun and endless smiles (known in Thai as sà·nùk).

The Prachan campus hosts programs in six faculties: British American Studies, Business Administration, Business Law, Economics, Political Science and International Relations and Thai Studies.

Course Description

At Thammasat, you'll enroll in a specific program and take at least three courses within that program. You can take up to two more electives from any other program on your campus, but all your classes must be at the campus you are enrolled in. Find English-taught courses for each subject on each program's curriculum page:

The British and American studies program examines both past and present day British and American society and culture. The program includes courses from the faculty of liberal arts as well as other disciplines such as economics, politics, media studies, and business.

The Business Administration program offers courses in business and allows flexibility to take courses outside of the business faculty.

Thammasat's International LL.B. Program in business law, the first program of its kind in Thailand, focuses on legal background of world trade and economy. The program takes advantage of Thailand's strategic position in the ASEAN region, as well as the Faculty's long history as one of the first law programs in Thailand in 1897, to offer an excellent foundation for a career in international business law.

Thammasat's bachelor of economics program is the oldest in Thailand and pioneered the teaching of economics using English as the medium of instruction in 1969. Coursework includes Thai/Asian and developing economies, economic theory, human resources, international/comparative, financial and quantitative economics as well as general Thai studies.

Bachelor and Master of Political Sciences Program in Politics and International Relations integrates theoretical approaches with case studies, current issues and practical skills. It also prioritizes a diverse range of academic questions essential to the fields of politics and international relations.

The Thai studies program, offered through Pridi Banomyong International College, provides an integrated and interdisciplinary program for Thai and foreign students. A wide range of courses on historical and present-day Thailand and its culture are available. Trips to artistic, ethnological, historical, political and religious sites are included. To see their course offering, select "Current Students," then "Thai Studies"

Thammasat offers these courses to degree-seeking students, so most should be offered regularly. To find out when courses were offered in the past, use the course search function on the registrar page to look up past semesters' schedules. Because the course search does not separate Thai- and English-taught courses, you'll want to find potential courses on the curriculum page, and not in the course search.
