• Take part in the many activities throughout the semester offered through the Student Club Committee, including trips to Prague, Berlin, Venice, and the ski slopes.
LIFE ABROAD
ABS is based in the bohemian epicenter of the 10th arrondissement, a neighborhood in Paris known for abundant markets, the picturesque waterway of the Canal St-Martin, charming boutiques, and high-end restaurants, including a few Michelin star recipients.
LIVE
Live with locals in homestay with a local French host family, where you can enjoy home-cooked meals and make real, lifelong connections. No language skills are required as host families speak English, but French-speaking homestays are also available. All housing is located around a 30-minute bus/metro commute or less from campus. For students who would prefer to live in a student residence, ABSParis can provide information to students about off-campus residence halls, but housing is competitive. ISEP does not bill for housing in the off-campus residences.
DINE
Start your day off the French way with a pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant) fresh out of the oven at a local boulangerie or patisserie. At the campus cafeteria, dig into a ham sandwich that’s dripping with cheese called a Croque Monsieur or Croque Madame if you would like to add an egg on top, which comes highly recommended! Families provide breakfast daily and 3 dinners during the week, and you’ll have access to the kitchen to prepare your own meals at other times. We recommend budgeting approximately 150-200 euros per month for meals not provided in the homestay.
EXPERIENCE
Take part in the vibrant student life by participating in social events, weekend trips, and sporting activities, such as soccer, basketball, and rugby teams. Through student clubs, you will be able to participate in cultural visits, theater outings, visits to museums in Paris, traditional bakery tours, historic castles visits, and excursions organized for students by students (some free, some for a small additional fee).
EXPLORE
The diverse regions of France offer everything your heart could desire – from quaint villages to fashion-forward cities bursting with energy, there are endless things to experience. Dive into a culture known for its world-famous art, wine, and cuisine. Paris is also a travel hub for France – just 3 hours away by train are the Alps, the Mediterranean, or London! If you would like to spend your weekends exploring Paris, discover the city from end to end using the vast public transportation system. Don’t miss the quintessential Parisian spots such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Champs-Elysées.
THRIVE
Take advantage of opportunities to build your future on this program. For example, career development workshops are offered on developing a CV/resume and learning how to identify your unique skills and strengths. There are also opportunities to attend corporate talks throughout the year, where students are invited to attend presentations on current business issues around marketing, finance, or international business themes.
SCHOLARSHIP
This program qualifies for the ISEP French and German Language Annette Kade Fund Scholarship. The scholarship awards $500 - $1,500 USD to students who are from a U.S. institution and studying French or German language in Austria, France, Germany, Reunion Island, or Switzerland. Learn more here.
