LIFE ABROAD

Welcome to the College in Collegeville! Located in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, Ursinus is the quintessential college town, about 27 miles from Philadelphia’s Center City. It’s a beautiful and safe community to live and learn, with all the big-city energy and cultural and professional opportunities of Philadelphia. Our sprawling, 170-acre residential campus, which includes an organic farm, wooded trails, and a Main Street, is the ideal setting for liberal education.

LIVE

Ursinus College is your home away from home. Our on-campus housing options provide a strong sense of community and an ideal environment for connecting with peers—it's why nearly 100% of students live on campus. Choose from a variety of housing options, from traditional residence halls with singles, doubles and suite-style living to unique Victorian homes in our Residential Village. With accessible options to support diverse needs, students enjoy the convenience of living close to classes, campus events, and study spaces.

DINE

Whether you're looking to sit down and share a meal with friends in our dining hall, pick up lunch from the food court, or grab a Starbucks Refresher (a student favorite!) in between classes at Cafe 2020, Ursinus has a dining option to suit your needs.

Students have access to a variety of meal plan options designed to provide flexibility and convenience.

EXPERIENCE

Students can engage in a vibrant array of extracurricular activities and cultural experiences that enhance their study abroad experience. The Office of Student Engagement hosts various events, including weekly activities like late-night breakfasts and trivia nights, which foster community and connection among students. Off-campus excursions provide exciting opportunities to explore the local area, with trips to attractions such as the Eastern State Penitentiary, the Philadelphia Zoo, and seasonal events like the Philadelphia Christmas Village.

Additionally, Ursinus encourages students to participate in any of our 80+ student organizations, covering a range of interests from cultural identity to service and advocacy. These clubs often host their own events and activities, allowing for a rich social life and opportunities to learn about different cultures. For students looking for immersive experiences, the college facilitates buddy programs that connect international students with local peers, ensuring that newcomers feel welcomed and supported.

EXPLORE

Collegeville and the surrounding area are filled with many restaurants, parks, shopping areas and cultural landmarks. Students can enjoy the scenic Perkiomen Trail, perfect for biking or walking, which connects several parks and historic sites. Nearby, Phoenixville boasts an eclectic mix of boutiques, eateries, and breweries, making it a great spot for shopping and socializing.

Additionally, the King of Prussia Mall, the largest shopping mall on the East Coast, is a mere 20-minute drive away and features numerous dining and shopping options. Students are also encouraged to explore the rich history of the area, including nearby attractions like Valley Forge National Historic Park and the vibrant culture of Philadelphia, which is just 45 minutes away.

With opportunities for adventure, relaxation, and cultural exploration, students will have plenty of bucket-list experiences to enjoy during their time at Ursinus.

VOLUNTEER, INTERN, & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Ursinus College offers various community engagement opportunities for incoming students, including volunteer programs, internships, and service-learning initiatives. Through the Ursinus Center for Advocacy, Responsibility, and Engagement (UCARE), students can participate in meaningful service projects that connect classroom learning with community needs, from tutoring to environmental sustainability efforts.

Additionally, programs like the Bonner Leaders enhance students' educational journeys by combining ongoing service work with skill development. For more details, you can visit the UCARE webpage

Interested in sustainability? EcoReps and Sustainability Fellows offer great opportunities to do sustainability-related community service on campus.
