Université de Nice was founded in 1639, traditionally including the School of Law and the School of Medecine. Nowadays, it is a modern multidisciplinary university of about 28,000 students, and 3,500 personnel (faculty, researchers and staff), member of Université Côte d'Azur.
It is spread over 8 campuses, including 13 colleges and schools, amongst which the prestigious campus in Sophia Antipolis, the largest tech hub in France known as the "French Silicon Valley", renowned for biotech and aerospace engineering.

Located on the French Riviera, Nice offers something for everyone. Whether you are interested in the beaches of the Cote d'Azur, the snow of the Alpes-Maritimes, the archeological ruins of the old city considered to be one of the oldest human settlements in the world or the well-known art museums, you will have plenty to explore. Cannes, Monte Carlo and Italy are just 20 miles away. The local international airport offers low-cost fares for travel throughout Europe.
Nestled alongside the Baie Des Anges on the Mediterranean, Nice is dominated by its mountaintop observatory which overlooks all eight campuses of the university. Flanked by beaches and close to Alpine skiing areas, the city has fine museums, year-round arts festivals, opera and theaters.
The Bureau de la Vie Étudiante offers many opportunities for students to get involved in campus and local student life. The university campus also has a health center where students can participate in a wide variety of athletic activities ranging from yoga to African dance to rock climbing!
Students may be housed in residence halls located on different campuses. Each campus has its own university restaurant with affordable meal options. The ESN brings students from all campuses together for cultural exchange and social activities. Excursions to nearby locations are organized and you can visit Cannes, Monte Carlo, Italy and many other interesting places.
