Lake Forest College offers the best of both worlds — a beautiful wooded suburban campus in the safe and historic town of Lake Forest, Illinois and access to the world-class city of Chicago just 30 miles and an hour's train ride from campus. The College is 25 miles from O'Hare International Airport and is also served by Midway Airport and Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee. The beaches of Lake Michigan are a short walk from campus as is the train to Chicago and beautiful downtown Lake Forest. The campus is surrounded by lush wooded neighborhoods, deep ravines, and an extensive network of bike and running trails. Students have easy access to internships, festivals, concerts, open-air markets, museums, year-round professional sports and so much more in nearby Chicago.

You’ll never run out of things to do at Lake Forest. There’s something going on here every day. Whether it's riding a mechanical bull to celebrate Forester Friday or winning best dressed at Mohr at Midnight’s Barn Dance, our student center is full of fun opportunities.

Club Sports provide students with the opportunity to stay physically active and competitive at an intercollegiate level. Students of all talent and experience levels are eligible and encouraged to participate in programs ranging from archery to ultimate frisbee. Students can also participate in a less formal way through intramural sports.

The Center for Chicago Programs is the campus hub for all Chicago-related programming. Providing help with itineraries and transportation, bringing Chicago-area speakers and performers to campus, sponsoring various course-related field trips to the city and so much more. The Center is your “one-stop-shop” for all things Chicago.

Through our Lake Forest College In The Loop residential program, full-year ISEP students can spend a semester living, taking courses and completing an internship at the College’s Chicago campus. Students reside at The Flats, which is located in the South Loop, the heart of Chicago’s thriving education district.
