Kennesaw State University is located in the densely populated and rapidly developing northwest region of Greater Metropolitan Atlanta, with the city of Atlanta itself approximately 30 miles away. Steeped in history, this diverse area has been central to several of the United States' defining moments. The city of Kennesaw was designated a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation and one of the "10 Best Towns for Families."
International students have many opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities as there are nearly 200 registered student organizations available, such as intramural athletics, choir, and academic clubs. The Office of International Student Retention Services serves as an advocate and resource for international students. They develop and implement educational, social, and cultural programs, activities, and workshops for international students. OISRS hosts the Global Village, a facility that provides a gathering place for internationally centered activities, resources, discussions, and exhibits. The English as a Second Language Program sponsors the Conversation Partners program, which matches international students with a U.S. student interested in learning and/or practicing a language.
