SU is located on an 80-acre main campus in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Virginia, near the popular Skyline Drive, 70 miles west of Washington, D.C. Historically, Winchester has been a Shawnee campground, Quaker settlement, working outpost of George Washington and a fought-over prize during the American Civil War. Today, its historic ambiance is the backdrop for everyday pleasures on the Winchester Old Town Walking Mall with unique shops, restaurants, music venues and a Shenandoah presence.
Students are welcome to take part in any number of campus organizations and intramural sports happening throughout the year. They can also attend any of the many performances available at the conservatory many of which are free of charge. SU also has an active International Student Association which allows you connect and participate numerous activities.
