Established in 1837, Marshall University is a historic public university located in downtown Huntington with additional campuses and centers in South Charleston, Point Pleasant, Teays Valley and Beckley, West Virginia.     Marshall University's main campus is located in Huntington, West Virginia, situated in the tri-state region bordering Kentucky and Ohio, with a population of 49,177. Huntington is the second-largest city in West Virginia, located on the banks of the Ohio River. The city is considered a "College Town," where most of the entire city is full of students. Students feel comfortable when they arrive and find it easy to make friends in such a small university environment. Marshall University has over 230 recognized student organizations and a large number of student services, such as: the College Program for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Career Services, Counseling Center, Health Services, H.E.L.P. Program, Security/Escort Service, Tutoring, Women’s Center, Student Resource Center and Writing Center. In the residence halls on-campus, you will live in a group environment while enjoying opportunities to establish your independence. On-campus housing will allow you to be part of a living and learning community in which you can forge lasting friendships.
