Tampere University is the second largest university in Finland, established in the beginning of 2019. Our new university is the majority shareholder of Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) and together the two institutions form a higher education community of 30,000 students, 330 professors and 4,400 other staff.

Tampere University offers 38 master’s, six bachelor’s and 23 doctoral programmes in English for international students. The university is primarily a research university, ranging from specialist subjects like game culture studies to tumour genetics. There are three separate campuses, each with their own speciality.

Notable alumni include current Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, former Prime Minister of Finland, Jyrki Katainen, and former Minister of Finance of Finland, Mika Lintilä.
