Founded in 1876, Hendrix is a four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The college was recently recognized as the nation's fourth best value for the outstanding liberal arts education it offers. Hendrix is also listed as one of the "Colleges That Change Lives." It enrolls about 1,350 students and has a student-faculty ratio of 12 to 1. More than 80 percent of the students live on campus. Outstanding at Hendrix are its well-equipped science labs, excellent performing arts facilities, particularly for theater arts, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, and opportunities for canoeing, hiking, camping, and many intramural sports.

Accademia dell'Arte offers study abroad programs for undergraduates in the performing arts. In the nearly ten years since the the Accademia came into being, it has continued to offer innovative approaches to performing arts study abroad programming and to creative opportunities for students, performers, educators, artists and scholars. Over the years the Accademia has formed strong partnerships with Universities and Colleges throughout the US and Europe. The list of guest artists and craftspeople from around the world who make the Accademia their home, if only for a short while, continues to grow as well as new projects and programs being developed year-round.

    Located in the Tuscany region, Arezzo is an extraordinary city of art renowned for its goldsmiths and antiques traders. It is believed to be one of the 12 most important cities in ancient Italian civilization known as the Etruscan cities and still maintains much of its medieval appearance. The location of the school in Arezzo with its beautiful facilities at Villa Godiola and the proximity of a host of vibrant performing venues, from the Teatro Petrarca–a classical opera house–to the historic piazzas and churches of Tuscany, will enable students to come into close contact with professional actors, directors, musicians, technicians and numerous artists that make up the world of European theatre and performance. Students can visit one of the richest artistic cities in Europe by traveling to Florence only 50 miles away.
