Florence University of the Arts (FUA) is a US-style institution with a vision for intercultural and community-based education. Founded in 1997, FUA is described as a young and innovative institution with over 4500 students and 40+ nationalities represented.  

With university buildings located throughout the city of Florence, students have the opportunity to explore the historical city. FUA focuses on community engagement and experiential learning.

  International students can participate in academic and extracurricular activities at FUA sponsored by the Student Life and Development Office (SLD). The SLD schedules field trips, city walks, and student events throughout the semester.  

  For a more culturally inclusive experience, students can sign up to have an Italian Host Family where they can spend time a few times a month interacting with the local community.
