Founded in 1857, the Mansfield Campus of the Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania is a rural college with an enrollment of over 2,700 students from 28 states and many foreign countries. Surrounded by state parks, lakes and spectacular mountain views, the 174-acre campus includes multiple recreation areas, tennis courts and playing fields, an indoor swimming pool, three auditoriums, a TV studio and radio station, a new fitness center, a new student union and a new child care center.

Mansfield is a borough located in the northern tier of Pennsylvania at the intersection of U.S. highway 15 and U.S. highway 6, 50 miles north of Williamsport and 30 miles south of Corning, New York. Mansfield is three hours from Harrisburg, four hours from Philadelphia and five hours from New York, by car. Daily bus service, north and south, connects Mansfield students to all points in the northeast United States.
Year-round outdoor activities are available in the immediate region. Opportunities include hunting, fishing, skiing, camping, hiking and water sports. Cultural attractions include the Clemens Center of Performing Arts in Elmira, New York, and the world-famous Corning Museum of Glass and Rockwell Museum of Western Art in Corning, New York.
