Founded in 1876, Hendrix is a four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The college was recently recognized as the nation’s fourth-best value for the outstanding liberal arts education it offers. Hendrix is also listed as one of the “Colleges That Change Lives.” It enrolls about 1,400 students and has a student-faculty ratio of 12 to 1. More than 80 percent of the students live on campus. Outstanding at Hendrix are its well-equipped science labs, excellent performing arts facilities, particularly for theater arts, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, and opportunities for canoeing, hiking, camping and many intramural sports.

Hendrix is located in Conway, Arkansas, a pleasant, peaceful community 30 minutes north of the state's capital, Little Rock. The state of Arkansas offers beautiful, untouched mountains, lakes and forests. The climate provides long colorful falls, brief mild winters and lovely springs. Major cultural centers like Dallas, Memphis and St. Louis are within driving distance.
Hendrix students take part in more than 70 student clubs and organizations, representing everything from academic areas and activism to service, social justice and special interests.
