    Fayette, Iowa, United States

Upper Iowa University is located in a quaint and unique town called Fayette in Northeast Iowa. Fayette is a place where a strong work ethic, friendly neighbors, nature's beauty and concern for family are the rule, not the exception. Fayette is home to Klock's Island Camping Park and Rainbow Land Park, Cardinal Sports Complex, Multi-Use Trails, Big Rock Golf Course and the Volga River Lake State Park. While the Volga River winds its way through town providing unlimited recreational opportunities, the 5,000 acre Volga River Lake State Park offers fishing, canoeing, sailing, hiking and cross country skiing. Seasons change with the splash and splendor of color. Fayette is the best of what nature and people have to offer.

Students participate in frequent field trips and service learning opportunities to expand their understanding of American culture, the English language and global citizenship. Some of the past field trips and university activities have included visits to Niagara Cave, Chicago, corn maze and cook-outs, Blackhawks hockey game, Iowa State Capital, bowling and UIU International Cultural Night. International students have many opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities. There are dozens of opportunities for students to explore and develop their leadership potential at UIU. International students may also join the International Student Association, a Greek fraternity or sorority, a club or organization, attend a concert, play intramurals and more.
