Carroll College is located in the picturesque town of Helena, Montana, in the northwest region of the U.S. The campus is surrounded by the Rocky Mountains as well as national parks, rivers, trails, lakes and boundless opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, skiing, camping, rafting and virtually any other outdoor activity you can imagine. Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park are just a few hours away from campus. Helena is home to a vibrant arts community and provides easy access to downtown shopping, dining and entertainment. The university is consistently ranked the number one Regional College in the West by U.S. News & World Report, which means it provides a level of academic quality that no other regional college in the West can match. Carroll offers more than 40 academic programs from which to choose, which are supported by modern facilities and technology and excellent professors who know each of their students and serve as their mentors.

Carroll has a legacy of producing highly successful graduates who are sought after by top employers and elite graduate schools every year. Students in their pre-medicine program are consistently accepted into medical school at a rate of 85 percent—far higher than the national average of less than 50 percent. In recent years, 100 percent of chemistry graduates have been accepted into graduate school, and 100 percent of computer science graduates have been offered impressive positions in their field.

Carroll is located in Helena, the capital city of Montana and offers urban amenities such as restaurants, clubs and cultural activities in a rural setting. Located halfway between Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks, Helena is ideally situated for exploring Montana’s rugged wilderness and extensive recreational opportunities. With direct flights to Salt Lake City, Denver, Seattle and Minneapolis, students have the chance to explore much of the U.S.

Carroll offers theater productions, outdoor programming, academic and social clubs as well as intramural sports. Each year the Organization of American and International Students club hosts the popular international fair for the campus and community to learn about international students. Our award-winning chapter of Engineers without Borders travels to Latin America each year as they complete ongoing projects in the region. Join in the excitement of watching high caliber athletic events from the six-time NAIA national champion football team, the Fighting Saints or other conference winning teams in women’s soccer, basketball, golf, cross country, track and field and men’s basketball, golf, cross country, and track and field. Many of our students serve the community by volunteering at numerous non-profit organizations around the area. Community events include concerts, theater and the Helena symphony. The campus’ location near the downtown area means that students can stroll to coffee shops, the movies, restaurants and Exploration Works, a hands-on museum across the street from campus.

Athletic facilities are available to use free of charge to students. The Hunthausen Activity Center is a fully-equipped Health Club, with climbing wall, cardio and weight facilities, basketball court, and fitness classrooms. One of the most popular student clubs is CAMP (Carroll Adventure and Mountaineering Program) which hosts Mountain Bike Thursdays, ski weekends, kayaking, fishing, hiking, camping, etc. Carroll has many intramural sports and all student activities are available to incoming exchange students. During the first month of the semester, there is a camping trip, and a whitewater raft experience available, in addition to retreats on a lake north of Helena.

Students will be met at the airport by a Student Global Ambassador and have ample time to solidify connections with the Global Ambassadors during the International Student Orientation program.
