Hendrix College in Costa Rica

Students will experience the natural splendor of Costa Rica, from marine to cloud forest ecosystems, and are exposed to the exciting culture of a safe, stable and democratic country in Central America. The program includes field trips to national parks, beautiful beaches and sites of cultural interest. 

Students on the Hendrix College in Costa Rica program live and study at Ecolodge San Luis in the heart of the beautiful Tilarán mountain range, minutes from the cloud forest and a few hours from the beach. The closest town, Santa Elena, is 20 minutes away. Santa Elena has grocery stores, restaurants and a pharmacy.

  Students and faculty will live and study at Ecolodge San Luis, a field station in north-central Costa Rica. The campus is located in the beautiful Tilarán mountain range, minutes from the cloud forest and a few hours from the beach. The closest town, Santa Elena, is 20 minutes away. Santa Elena has grocery stores, restaurants and a pharmacy.

  Ecolodge San Luis cabins are relatively new and are bunk-style rooms with indoor bathrooms and hot showers. The Ecolodge has a full-service kitchen where local women and men prepare three hearty meals a day, much of which comes from locally grown food. Meals are vegetarian- and vegan-friendly.
