Internships in Edinburgh are available for university students and young professionals. The program provides an opportunity to be involved in one of Scotland's leading and most vibrant cities, all the while having the support of a well-established and trusted international organization.

Along with your fellow interns on the program, you will also connect with local professionals in your career field at your internship placement. As with all capital cities, the working atmosphere can be a little more formal than other places, although it depends on the type of workplace. Edinburgh workplaces offer a welcoming and inclusive culture which helps interns acclimate to their new team and get to spend time learning about the local culture.

Interning in such a vivacious, collaborative culture is step one to expanding your network, enhancing your skill set and creating the experience of a lifetime.

HOW IT WORKS

Complete a full-time internship abroad and lay the groundwork for your future career! Work in a global environment and learn about your field from a cross-cultural perspective.

ISEP and our partners at Global Experiences work with you to find an internship placement that matches your career aspirations, educational background and location preferences. During the application process, you will conduct a brief phone call with an ISEP Advisor to learn about your goals for interning abroad. If accepted, you will be guaranteed an internship in your desired career field and location.

In the months leading up to the term abroad, you will be matched with potential employers and interview with them directly to learn more about each other. If everything goes well, the internship is finalized. You will know your internship placement and role before you depart to your host country.

TESTIMONIAL

What an experience!! I was a bit reluctant when I signed up for the program, but Global Experience made it so easier and simple for me to navigate all the steps. All of this would have not been possible without all the GE coordinators that were here to guide us through the whole journey. 10/10 would recommend this program.

HOUSING

Edinburgh is a compact city and so wherever you are located you are never far from the action.

To ensure interns can experience "living like the locals," we include housing in student apartments located near main areas, or close to public transport lines.

Interns can expect to live in a shared bedroom in a shared apartment with other participants on the Global Experiences program, or other students attending language or study programs in the city. The apartments will have a shared kitchen and the necessary amenities, including Wi-Fi. All participants take a roommate questionnaire to help our team assess the right housing match for you.

If you have any special living requirements, please mention this to a staff member at your time of application and we will discuss accommodation options available.

CAREER FIELDS

Internship placements are available in career fields including Arts Administration, Finance, Graphic Design, Social Media, Social Services, and more.
