The University of Waikato offers internship opportunities through InternNZ where students have the option to earn academic credit while developing invaluable cross-cultural professional skills and gaining hands-on experience. Students of all fields of study are eligible to intern abroad on this program who are in their second year at a university or further along in their degree plan.

Course Description
The University of Waikato is an innovative and student-focused university that offers small class sizes with a focus on hands-on learning. Students can choose from courses in any of their seven schools (faculties), with top-ranked programs in Business (their Business School ranked one of the best in the world with the “triple crown” of accreditations: AACSB, EQUIS and AAMBA), Computer Science, Screen and Media studies and Linguistics. Other unique areas of focus include: Mathematical Sciences, Law, and Maori and Indigenous studies, and Health. Other Academic Conditions
Programs are called “qualifications” in New Zealand and a program area of focus is called a “specialization”. Classes are called both “courses” and “papers”. Most papers (classes) are worth 15 points (credits) per semester. Students can expect to spend 10 hours per week attending lectures and required discussions, completing readings and assignments.
University of Waikato follows the Southern Hemisphere calendar. When searching for courses, be sure to search for courses using the correct parameters: A Trimester is February to June; B Trimester is July to November.
If you are considering studying for a full-year in New Zealand, you should consider starting your program at the beginning of UWaikato’s academic year in February.
