iSummerMX: Insights to Love Mexico is a four-week summer program designed for international students who love traveling and learning about new cultures and are interested in discovering their marketing potential and advancing their professional competencies in a unique and experiential way.

Course Description

Note: The information below is for Summer 2020. Program itineraries and course details for Summer 2021 will be confirmed by January 2021. 

PROGRAM ITINERARY 

Students will discover four of the most iconic states in Mexico, visiting the capital of Mexico City, enjoying colonial Querétaro, the amazing city of Guadalajara, walking through historic locations in Puebla and making everlasting memories in beautiful locations like Puerto Vallarta and San Miguel de Allende.

Week 1 (July 6-10): Campus Mexico City at Santa Fe 

Week 2 (July 13-17): Campus Puebla

Week 3 (July 20-24): Campus Querétaro

Week 4 (July 27-31): Campus Guadalajara

COURSE DETAILS 

Students will earn the equivalent of 6 U.S. credits during this four-week program. 

1. MT1003 Marketing and Creativity

(Taught in English)

The students will be familiar with the field of marketing and will be able to understand the factors that affect companies and their environment. They will understand the evolution of marketing, creativity, information and market research systems, market segmentation, consumer buying behavior, commercial markets, product development strategies, prices, distribution and promotional mix. In addition, students will build a marketing business plan to face all the discovered insights around Mexico's marketing tourism environment.

2. MT2006 Consumer Behavior

(Taught in English)

At the end of this course the student should have a clearer perspective of consumer behavior, discovering marketing and inspiring insights in order to model consumption patterns. The students will build their competencies in being more empathetic, enthusiastic, curious about themselves and the people with whom they interact. The course structures the information obtained in a significant rheorical frame, in which concepts and theories deriving from psychology, sociology and anthropology need to be applied critically.
