This program is designed to provide international competency and field work experience under the supervision of an EARTH University faculty member. Students with specific field research projects or specialized areas of interest are welcome to conduct their research and expand their knowledge. The internship program at EARTH University offers the opportunity to learn through hands-on, career-focused work experiences in four distinct focus areas. The university is in-session over the summer, so during your time on campus you will have many opportunities to get involved in University life and activities with EARTH's full-time students, along with visiting local communities and traveling to impressive destinations across Costa Rica!

Founded in 1990, EARTH University’s innovative educational approach prepares its students to contribute to the sustainable development of their countries and construct a prosperous and just society. EARTH offers rigorous undergraduate programs in agricultural sciences and natural resources management with a prestigious, international faculty, providing a world-class scientific and technological education that emphasizes values, ethical entrepreneurship and environmental and social commitment.

EARTH University’s campus is located approximately halfway between the capital city of San José and the Caribbean port city of Limón, in the heart of the tropical Caribbean lowlands of Costa Rica. The 8,342-acre campus includes classrooms, laboratories, sustainable academic farms, sporting and recreational facilities, chief operational offices, student and faculty residences, a commercial banana plantation, reforested areas and a large, protected rainforest reserve. Since the academic and residential buildings are located around six kilometers (almost four miles) from the main entrance, you will find almost everything you need on campus.

Students should only apply for the summer internship program at EARTH University if they have obtained prior approval from their home university for transferring grades and credits back to their home university transcript, or if they are not planning to transfer internship credits back to their home university transcript.
