Language & Culture Program (in French) - ISEP Exchange
A multidisciplinary university, Saint-Etienne was founded in 1970. It has a "stephanoise" orientation to the region's social and economic needs. Facilities include research labs and an electron microscope center as well as a brand-new sports center. Located an hour from Lyon and host to one of the stages in the Tour de France, Saint-Étienne is a hidden jewel known for its tradition of hospitality.

Course Description
During the fall semester students at Université Jean Monnet de Saint-Étienne offers a French Language and Culture program at the university's Centre International de Langue et Civilisation.
Courses aim to allow students to express themselves in French more fluently. This is accomplished though interactive classes and opportunities for students to perfect their writing skills, improve their knowledge of grammar and discover French society.
The program is open to students at the A1 through B2 level in French.
- Students at the A1 level will enroll in a program of 15 hours of French langauge instruction per week (26 ECTS).
- Students at the A2 level and above will enroll in 18 hours of instruction per week (30 ECTS).
- The 18 total hours comprises 15 hours of French language instruction per week (26 ECTS) + two elective modules that each meet for 1.5 hours per week (2 ECTS each).

As the This program is only offered Fall semester (August to December), many students at the B1 level and above choose to take the Language & Culture program during the fall semester and continue with regular university courses for the spring semester. When submitting a full year application, students should specify their program choice.
