Course Description
Programs at NMIT Te Pūkenga are designed alongside industry to create work ready graduates that meet local and international job market’s needs. You’ll find the tight knit community at NMIT Te Pūkenga takes great care for student success, and classes are small enough that they know you by name.
Remember that NMIT Te Pūkenga operates in the Southern Hemisphere. Be sure to search for courses using the correct semester parameters: Semester 1 is February to June and Semester 2 is July to November.
At NMIT Te Pūkenga study abroad and exchange students can study in the subject area of their major and include courses from other subject areas, dependent on timetable clashes and meeting necessary prerequisites.
Most of the courses are worth 15 NMIT Te Pūkenga Credits (7.5 ECTS/3.75 US Semester Credits). Choosing a full year of study would equate to between 90 and 120 credits.
INTERNSHIPS
NMIT Te Pūkenga offers internship opportunities for incoming exchange students. The experiences are usually major-specific, and the length of placement varies depending on the subject as well. All internships are credit bearing and are integrated into a full semester of on-campus study. Students need to have a background in their chosen subject area in order to be eligible to participate, except for internships in Tourism.
Eligible students can participate in internships in the following fields of study (subject to availability): Tourism, Viticulture & Winemaking, Aquaculture & Marine Conservation, Information Technology, and Sports & Recreation Science.

Nursing is CLOSED to incoming students.
For Direct students only, NMIT Te Pūkenga also has a great offering of graduate-level Courses in business management; international business/trade/commerce; and logistics, materials & supply chain management. PASSPORT: All students must have a valid passport to participate in this program. If you do not have a valid passport, we suggest you start the application process as soon as possible.
