LIFE ABROAD
Excursions & Cultural Experiences
Hanyang offers a multitude of included activities throughout the summer program. Excursions include a trip to the largest amusement park in Korea (Everland), a Nanta show, a tour to the Demilitarized Zone, and a trip to a water park.
Housing & Meals
Students will have guaranteed off-campus housing with access to grocery stores, cooking facilities, and a multitude of dining options with affordable meal choices. All ISEP students will be housed in the same building. We recommend students bring funds to pay for food while abroad.
Explore Seoul
Seoul is one of the world’s most vibrant and dynamic cities, where cutting-edge technology, nature, and history exist side by side. Hanyang University's main campus is located in eastern part of the city. Students can enjoy on-campus features such as a scenic walking trail around the university grounds and performances at the campus amphitheater, or take advantage of the on-campus subway station to easily access everything the city has to offer, including shopping, parks, museums, historical landmarks, and art installations.
Vaccine & Quarantine Policies
All travelers to Korea must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 48 hours of their departure.
There is a mandatory 7-day quarantine upon entry for most travelers. Currently, Hanyang estimates that a full additional one-week quarantine will be $700 USD. This includes housing, meals, and airport pickup.
Starting from March 21, 2022, vaccinated travelers who have completed their COVID-19 vaccination in Korea OR those who already registered their overseas vaccination history at a local Korean public health center will be eligible for quarantine exemption. Those who are quarantine-exempt will not need to pay for quarantine housing, meals, or airport pickup (the ~$700 mentioned above).
Starting from April 1, 2022, vaccinated travelers who have completed vaccination overseas AND register their vaccination history through the Quarantine COVID19 Defence (Q-Code) system BEFORE traveling to Korea will be eligible for quarantine exemption. Vaccination is considered to be complete 14 days after the 2nd shot for a two-dose vaccine (valid up to 180 days) or with booster shots.
We encourage students to consider getting a COVID-19 vaccine if they are eligible.
