Summer in Seoul - Science and Engineering (in English) - ISEP Direct
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
· Spend four weeks studying alongside international students and make local friends at Hanyang University, South Korea's top Engineering school
· Take science and engineering courses (up to 9 U.S. Credits) and make progress towards your undergraduate degree
· Students can choose from up to 3 cultural activities. Past examples have included a Mud Festival, trips to water parks, cultural shows and cooking demonstrations, and a trip to the Demilitarized Zone.
· Hanyang’s “Global Lions” are students who support international students on campus. While you are at Hanyang, the Global Lions will be your group leaders, mentors, and friends

Excursions & Cultural Experiences
Hanyang offers a multitude of included activities throughout the summer program. Excursions include a trip to the largest amusement park in Korea (Everland), a Nanta show, a tour to the Demilitarized Zone, and a trip to a water park.
Housing & Meals
Be the first to stay in Hanyang University’s brand-new on-campus residence hall. Relax in a double room with a private bathroom. Enjoy access to common areas, laundry facilities, and study spaces. Stay active with a gym conveniently located on the ground floor. Plan to bring your own bed linens, pillows, and cutlery for personal use—but no need for pots and pans, as cooking is not allowed in the dorms.
Explore Seoul
Seoul is one of the world’s most vibrant and dynamic cities, where cutting-edge technology, nature, and history exist side by side. Hanyang University's main campus is located in eastern part of the city. Students can enjoy on-campus features such as a scenic walking trail around the university grounds and performances at the campus amphitheater, or take advantage of the on-campus subway station to easily access everything the city has to offer, including shopping, parks, museums, historical landmarks, and art installations.
Course Description
Hanyang University is ranked as the top Engineering school in South Korea. As such, they have a wide variety of English-taught courses in Engineering, Math, and Science.
Students who complete the program in good standing can expect to earn 3-9 credits which ISEP recommends is the equivalent of 3-9 U.S. Credit Hours. Academic courses are 3 credits with 45 contact hours, elective courses are 1 credit with 15 contact hours, and research projects are 3 credits with +60 contact hours. Students can take up to three courses. Students can take up to three courses.
Please note that if you use financial aid, you may be required to earn 6 US credits to be eligible for summer aid. Please speak with a qualified financial aid advisor to understand your eligibility and the requirements for using financial aid.

While there are no English language proficiency requirements, students whose first language is not English should come prepared to learn in an English-taught environment. If you're concerned about your English proficiency, feel free to reach out to your ISEP Student Services Officer.
PASSPORT: All students must have a valid passport to participate in this program. If you do not have a valid passport, we suggest you start the application process as soon as possible.
VISA/RESIDENCE PERMIT: Some students attending this program will be required to obtain a visa/residence permit. For more information on the process and estimated cost, please review the ISEP Country Handbook here.
