Study in France - French Language & Culture (in French) - ISEP Exchange
The French Language & Culture program is an excellent option for students at all French language levels!
Students take courses alongside other international students at their language level. This fully immersive program focuses on French conversation and phonetics and also gives students the opportunity to participate in thematic workshops. Each semester offers 20 hours of class per week, allowing students to obtain an Aix-Marseille University Diploma (D.U. of French Language & Culture) and 30 ECTS credits per semester.
HOUSING AND MEALS
ISEP students live in a studio room at the university residence hall by CROUS called 'Cité internationale Cuques' and receive a meal stipend.
SCHOLARSHIP
This program qualifies for the ISEP French and German Language Annette Kade Fund Scholarship. The scholarship awards $500 - $1,500 USD to students who are from a U.S. institution and studying French or German language in Austria, France, Germany, Reunion Island, or Switzerland. Learn more here!
Course Description

Students may not enroll in the SUL program alongside regular university courses.
ACADEMIC CALENDAR
A typical semester will follow this timeline:
Semester 1 - Fall
- Arrival and orientation – Last week of August
- Classes start Early September
- Classes end Late December (before holiday break)
- Exams take place the last week of classes
Semester 2 - Spring
- Arrival and orientation – Early January
- Classes start Mid January
- Classes end Late April(before holiday break)
- Exams take place the last week of classes
PASSPORT: All students must have a valid passport to participate in this program. If you do not have a valid passport, we suggest you start the application process as soon as possible.
VISA/RESIDENCE PERMIT: Most students attending this program will be required to obtain a visa/residence permit. For more information on the process and estimated cost, please review the ISEP Country Handbook here.
