Busses and trains provide easy access through and out of the city into the suburbs, beaches, and to the rest of New South Wales. Budget-friendly flights are available out of Sydney to visit other wonders in Australia like the Great Barrier Reef or Melbourne!

Course Description
UTS offers practice-based learning in cutting-edge facilities. Their classes are continually updated to reflect developments in research and technology. More than 150 companies partner with UTS, sharing their resources and expertise. Credits Earned
Students who complete the program in good standing can expect to earn 18-24 UTS credits which ISEP recommends is the equivalent of 12-15 U.S. Credit Hours. Each course is usually worth 6 credit points.

Other Academic Conditions
At UTS, courses are programs or majors, and classes are called subjects or units.
Most UTS subjects are taught through a mix of lectures and required discussions (tutorials). Some subjects incorporate seminars, presentations, laboratory work and/or individual study. Lectures, tutorials, seminars or laboratory sessions normally total between 12 and 24 hours per week.
Before exploring the list of subjects in the UTS Handbook, students will find it helpful to review the Study Abroad Study Plans and Subject page. This provides an overview of how the UTS subjects work, and provides Subject Guides, by major study area, that list popular subjects and their academic levels. The Step-by-Step Guide to Finding Subjects as a Study Abroad and Exchange Student is also available from this site.
If you would like to locate additional subjects beyond the Subject Guides:
1. Go to UTS homepage for current students
2. Under “Managing your course”, click “UTS Handbook”
3. Click on the Course Area, and then on "Undergraduate Courses" to locate suitable “Subjects” or directly to the "Subjects" menu, then click on the subject code
4. Click “Detailed subject description” to find the syllabus
Generally, Study Abroad and Exchange students enroll in three or four subjects per session at UTS (18-24 credit points). Note there are two different tuition rates for taking 3 vs. 4 subjects. Enrolling in more than 4 subjects/ 24 credit points will incur an additional cost.
Subjects from the following programs are generally not available for Exchange students: Nursing clinical and Education placements; Midwifery; all Graduate Health subjects; MBA Executive; Chinese Medicine; Engineering internships. Animation and Media Arts Production may have limited availability.
Undergraduate students cannot generally study postgraduate courses.
Students will need to make sure they meet the English language requirements set by their UTS academic department when registering for courses, as some have higher language requirements than others.
UTS follows the Southern Hemisphere calendar. When searching for courses, be sure to search for courses using the correct parameters: Autumn Session is February to June; Spring Session is July to November.
If you are considering studying for a full-year, you should consider starting your program at the beginning of UTS’s academic year in February.
