Study in the U.S.A. - Northeast (in English) - ISEP Exchange
The University of Vermont combines faculty-student relationships most commonly found in a small liberal arts college with the resources of a major research institution. UVM is located in Burlington, Vermont, which is perennially voted one of America's most exciting small cities. UVM's setting in a valley on the shores of Lake Champlain, between the Adirondack and the Green mountain ranges, inspires visitors and residents.
HOUSING
Exchange students live in UVM residence halls. Students are housed in suite double, traditional double, or within a special housing community for exchange students. Single rooms are available on a limited basis, and students should not expect this format of housing. More information about UVM housing is available from ResLife:https://www.uvm.edu/reslife
MEALS
All students have a university meal plan. For more information visit the UVM Dining's website: http://uds.uvm.edu/plans.html
*Calendar Year students are not eligible for ISEP housing or meal benefits over the summer break
Academics
Other Academic Conditions
Coures in theater, upper-level and graduate psychology are not available to ISEP students. Students who request courses in these fields will not be considered for placement at this institution.
Students should review UVM course options carefully as space constraints and pre-requisite requirements may limit desired course schedules. Prior to arrival, the Office of International Education will work closely with accepted students on finding the best possible schedule.
Students should consult with their ISEP advisor if they are seeking enrollment in a combination of undergraduate and graduate level coursework.
Courses in Business Administartion, Art and Physical Education generally have an additional course fee associated with taking classes in those fields.
Limited courses are available in fine arts. Students within this field must be highly flexible and willing to take all or most of their courses within other disciplines.
For students allowed to use ISEP's Language Proficiency Report (LPR) in place of English test scores, a minimum of C1 is required.
DuoLingo may be accepted in lieu of another English test, and a minimum score of 110 is required.
PASSPORT: All students must have a valid passport to participate in this program. If you do not have a valid passport, we suggest you start the application process as soon as possible.
VISA: All non-U.S. citizens will be required to obtain a visa. For more information on the process and estimated cost, please review the ISEP Country Handbook here.
