Course Description

The primary language of instruction at Nantes Université is French but there are many course offerings in English as well which can be identified in this brochure. Nantes specializes in fields of study such as languages, literature and humanities along with science and technology. Nantes Université is a major research center for the following Faculties: Health and Industry of the future, physical sciences and engineering, mathematics and computer science, and life and earth science.

Students are highly encouraged to in the French support classes for exchange students in the evenings (up to 4 ECTS). Students wanted to enroll in a French Language and Culture program should apply to that program with ISEP directly as it is not possible to take more than 4 ECTS of French as a foreign language in the Study in France program.

Campus Note:

Most students will enroll and reside at the campus within the city of Nantes, however, the university also offers courses at two other campuses in Saint-Nazaire and La Roche sur Yon. Students enrolling in courses outside Nante will also have housing closest to their chosen faculty.

Credits Earned

Students who complete the program in good standing can expect to earn 24-30 ECTS per semester which typically equates to 4-10 classes per semester. To determine how these credits convert at your home institution, please contact your home university coordinator.

If you use financial assistance, please speak with your home coordinator to understand your academic obligations and the requirements for using financial assistance.

COURSE SEARCH

1. Using this link, students must select a Faculty (Sélectionner une composante) and then a Department (Sélectionner une discipline)

2. Students can select “Toutes” for Faculty but will still need to select a department

3. Following the selection, students can view and filter course names, semester offered, language of instruction (English or French by way of a flag), Year, and ECTS credits

Some university courses are offered on a full-year basis only.
