Study in Finland (in English) - ISEP Exchange
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
• Experience the rich art, history, nature, and culture of Turku, Finland’s oldest city, often referred to as ‘the Paris of Finland’.
• Pursue coursework in fields such as education, technology, law, and natural sciences, or fulfill your business course requirements with AACSB-accredited courses offered at the Turku School of Economics.
• Immerse yourself in a diverse and vibrant campus community of nearly 20,000 students as you stroll along the banks of the Aura River on your way to class.
LIVE and DINE
Choose between a private room in a shared apartment or opt for your own studio apartment, all within 2-5 kilometers from campus, making it easy to walk, ride your bike, or catch the bus to class. Shared apartments include a kitchen just for you and 1-2 roommates, whereas studio apartments come with a minifridge and access to one communal kitchen that may be used by up to 12 residents on your floor. Use your meal stipend to grab lunch at the UTU cafeteria for a reasonable price or head to popular grocery stores such as K-Market or Lidl after class. Warm up with a steaming bowl of lohikeitto, a creamy soup made with salmon, potatoes, and dill, or—if you’re feeling adventurous—try poronkäristys, a Lapland specialty consisting of sautéed reindeer, typically served with mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce.
EXPERIENCE
Take advantage of excursions offered through the University of Turku’s Erasmus Student Network (ESN) including a weeklong trip to Lofoten Island, hiking trips, and a day trip to Tampere. The UTU chapter of ESN also hosts events and activities closer to campus, such as pub quiz nights, cultural celebrations, and friendship nights. Get involved during your time at UTU by joining a club on campus such as the Academic Football Club, the Academic Nintendo Club, or Akateeminen Partiokilta (also known as the Academic Scout Guild or informally as APK), an organization dedicated to hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities.
What We Love About Turku
