Fiji may be a small island in the pacific, but being on an archipelago has some unique advantages including pristine beaches and secluded islands – opening whole new worlds of exploration. The University of the South Pacific is in Suva, the heart of Fiji and home to half of the country’s population. Downtown, you will find diverse architecture including colonial buildings, modern plazas and small back roads lined with local cuisine – all just minutes from tropical beaches.

At USP, students are can blend academics and hands on practical learning. Courses including Marine Studies, Tourism, Geography, Environmental Science and Biology all offer field trips to provide a rich experience from the perspective of the Pacific.

Course Description

ISEP students can take up to four undergraduate classes from any of USP's three faculties. Recommended areas of study include: marine science, geography, tourism, land management and environmental studies. Courses in these subject areas offer students insights into the development issues and challenges faced by Pacific Island Countries. Many of the courses include field trips and excursions in the curricula.

To find the courses you need, look through USP's Programs and Courses list to see the courses and specializations in each program, or use the course finder to search their course database. Be sure to select face-to-face or blended courses on the Laucala campus. Search Semester 1 for the semester that begins in January, and Semester 2 for the semseter starting in July.
