Students wishing to take full-time French language and culture courses may now choose between ISEP Direct or ISEP Exchange.

ACCENTS, part of the Université de Savoie, specializes in teaching French as a foreign language to students from non-Francophone countries. French language and culture courses are provided for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. Courses aim to expand students' knowledge of French culture while honing their reading, speaking, and listening skills. Students are placed in appropriate language levels according to a placement exam taken before arrival. In addition to these courses, a program of activities with at least one activity per month (excursion, sports activities etc.) is offered free of charge.

Fall Semester

This is a full semester study workload of French language and contemporary society (200 hours of classroom contact) in the 4-month period September – December. This program also offers additional features:

- Welcome week at La Feclaz mountain resort

- Organized actitivities and excursions during the semester

- Three weeks of vacation so you have the chance to travel abroad or explore the region!

- Christmas in France! Stay in your accomodation through December and spend the holidays in Chambéry.

Spring Semester

This program spreads 200 hours of classroom contact over the period early January to mid-April. This program also offers additional features:

- Welcome weekend at La Feclaz mountain resort

- Organized actitivities and excursions during the semester

- Three weeks of vacation so you have the chance to travel abroad or explore the region!

ISEP students will live in a university residence hall. Students will share their flat with another student in the residence hall with private room and shared bathroom and kitchen.

ISEP Exchange students receive a meal stipend from USMB. The stipend reflects the cost of the cafeteria meal plan (14 meals per week) with an allowance for weekends and vacation periods, and should also leave some money for personal expenses. Please note that for administrative reasons the first payment can take up to a month to process, so students should arrive prepared to cover initial expenses.

ISEP Direct students do not receive meal benefits and will be expected to use their own funds for meals. Students can expect to spend approximately 300 euros per month on food.

All ISEP students will be expected to budget for their meals accordingly, and can ask their ISEP Student Services Officer for budgeting tips, as well as check out ISEP's resources about Budgeting for Study Abroad.
