The searchable course catalog can be found here. To navigate select “English” or “German” on the bottom right of the page. Then click “show all possible search criteria”. Then you can select the teaching language. Once you have completed these steps, you select search and the list of courses will populate.

Please note:

There are nine English taught master programs (data science/ english literatures and media/ environmental sciences / economics / european and east asian governance/ geoinformatics/ applied statistics / international economics & public policy, natural language processing).

All other master programs and all bachelor programs are taught in German. There are few (most of them by the English studies department) to none English taught courses in these programs.

Please note that undergraduate students with background knowledge in a particular major are welcome to register for courses at the graduate level.

Researching courses in English on a German university homepage can sometimes be difficult and confusing. Use the ISEP Guide to Course Selection to learn more about navigating a university website, finding courses in both English and German, and some translations of common words and major fields of study. Trier University also offers a guide on how to use its course catalogue. Students can see a list of all academic departments at Trier here.

German Language classes are available to students at all levels. Students can select to only enroll in the pre-exchange German Language course or they can enroll in up to 12-15 ECTS of German Language classes during the lecture period also.
