UPAEP University is located in Puebla, a charming city southeast of Mexico City. Puebla’s historic city center is filled with colonial churches, cobblestone plazas and museums, and the city has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its beautiful architecture. The region is also well known for traditional arts, especially fine pottery and ceramics. Known also as the “city of the student,” Puebla boasts plenty of modern amenities, with thriving shopping centers, restaurants, cafes and nightlife.

UPAEP was founded in 1973 as a project of the Puebla community. The university is dedicated to the training of professionals who are a factor of change and transformation in society to further the common good. The campus is urban and modern, yet inviting and friendly, and is located just minutes from Puebla’s historic downtown. UPAEP is known for its academic excellence, especially in its health sciences programs.

ISEP students immerse themselves in Mexican culture and daily life by taking university classes with local students and living in a residence hall on campus or with a host family in the community. The university has an active student body, and ISEP students can participate in sports teams, cultural activities and student groups. Internships, community service and volunteering opportunities are all available, and excursions are planned throughout the semester. ISEP students can be matched with a local UPAEP “buddy” to help them navigate life in Puebla and on campus!

Tips for finding courses in Spanish:

1. Click on the subject.

2. Scroll down to "Plan de estudios."

3. Courses in odd-numbered semesters (1,3,5,7,9) are offered August – December. Courses in even-numbered semesters (2,4,6,8) are offered January – June.

4. "Unidades” refer to the number of credits each course is worth. 1 UPAEP credits = 1 ECTS or 0.5 U.S. credits. In other words, a course that is worth 6 “unidades” is equivalent to 6 ECTS or 3 U.S. credits. Your home university ultimately determines credit conversion.
