University of Puerto Rico’s flagship Rio Piedras campus is located in the vibrant capital city of San Juan. One of the top destinations in the Caribbean, San Juan is filled with rich cultural traditions, natural beauty and cosmopolitan elegance. Established in 1521, the El Viejo quarter of San Juan is home to brightly colored colonial-era buildings, winding cobblestone streets, charming plazas and quaint cafes. The new and modern district of San Juan offers not only endless dining, shopping and entertainment options, but also gorgeous white sand beaches with turquoise blue waters.

Founded in 1903, the University of Puerto Rico is the main public university system of Puerto Rico. The university is comprised of eleven campuses throughout the country, two of which (Rio Piedras and Mayaguez) are open to ISEP students. Rio Piedras is the largest campus in the university system in terms of student population. University of Puerto Rico is ranked among the top 50 universities in Latin America by QS World University Rankings

ISEP students immerse themselves in Puerto Rican culture and daily life by taking university classes with local students and living in a residence hall on campus. The university has an active student body, and ISEP students can participate in sports teams, cultural activities and student groups.
