Study in Finland (in English) - ISEP Exchange
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
• Experience the breathtaking natural beauty of the Arctic Circle from your new home in eastern Finland.
• Study at one of UEF's two campuses: Joensuu, where you can take courses in education, history, and unique fields like forestry, translation, and environmental policy, or Kuopio, which offers courses in fields such as public health, biomedicine, nursing science, clinical medicine, environmental science, and applied science.
• Join a community of individuals focused on creating a more sustainable future at a university that is committed to being carbon neutral by 2030.
LIVE and DINE
Enjoy the privacy of a single room in a shared apartment within a 10-minute walk or bike ride to the center of campus. Every apartment is fully furnished, has on-site laundry, and is equipped with a shared kitchen and bathroom. Use your monthly meal stipend at one of the many restaurants on campus where you can indulge in traditional Finnish favorites like herring, Karelian pastries, or leipäjuusto — a mild Finnish cheese often served warm with cloudberry jam or coffee — or head to one of the nearby grocery stores to stock your apartment kitchen with all the necessities.
EXPERIENCE
Once you arrive at UEF, you’ll be paired with a student tutor who will give you studying tips and help you adjust to everyday life as a student in Finland. Connect with the Student Union (ISYY) to participate in organized excursions, events, and programs on and off campus throughout the semester, including Coffee & Friends, Language Cafés, and the Hobby Buddy Service. You can also join a variety of clubs catering to students interested in dance, culture, sports, and sustainability.
