How to Search for Courses at TU Dortmund (Video)
Researching courses in English on a German university homepage can sometimes be difficult and confusing. Use the ISEP Guide to Course Selection to learn more about navigating a German website, finding courses in both English and German, and some translations of common words and major fields of study.
German universities frequently do not offer the same classes every semester. Oftentimes, instructors change their classes with their current research interests. This means that it is often difficult to predict the exact schedule of available classes ahead of time. Classes for upcoming semesters are often only published a month in advance of the semester start date. For this reason, we recommend looking at courses offered in past semesters to get a general idea of the types of courses that will be offered during your semester (or year) abroad. This is especially true of classes taught in English. Generally speaking, TU Dortmund is an excellent option if you are looking to take elective, research-oriented courses within your degree field that may not be offered at your home campus
If placed at TU Dortmund, you will work closely with your host coordinators to create a class schedule that meets your personal interests and academic needs. In cooperation with your advisors as home, this will then insure that courses you take in Dortmund will be credited by your home university. If, however, you must know about the availability of a particular class in order to make a decision for Dortmund, Dortmund advisors will be able to assist you to find out out whether a particular class is available.
Masters programs taught in English at TU Dortmund are open to qualified upper-level (third or fourth year) undergraduate ISEP students provided they meet the course prerequisites.
