LIFE ABROAD

From exploring the East Coast, enjoying Baltimore's professional sports, museums, and seafood, and making long-lasting friendships, Goucher is the perfect spot for ISEP students to experience the U.S. It offers great opportunities for sightseeing and networking, and the campus is known for its high-quality liberal arts academics. Goucher prepares students for 21st-century careers and is well-regarded in the U.S. as one of the country's best liberal arts colleges.

HOUSING

ISEP Exchange benefits include housing provided in the on-campus residence halls, which are centrally located and just a short walk away from all of Goucher's academic classrooms. Each room is double-occupancy and fully furnished, including a bed, dresser, and more for each student.

Housing is available for breaks during the semester.

MEALS

ISEP students are provided with a meal plan that provides 19 meals a week in Goucher's on-campus dining facility. With selections ranging from Mongolian stir fry to burgers hot off the grill, ISEP students will have variety and quality at their fingertips. Dietary needs are accommodated, including specific options for those who have vegetarian, vegan, and kosher requirements.

The dining hall will close during long vacation periods: Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Breaks. Students will receive a stipend of $20 per day to cover meal costs, and students may use their residence hall kitchens to cook their own meals or they may eat at a restaurant.

There is no meal stipend during Winter Break.

Course Description

Goucher College offers superior academics and hands-on teaching. ISEP students can take courses from any discipline as long as the courses are available, and the student has the required pre-requisite classes.

Goucher's liberal arts curriculum provides students with a wide variety of program options.  The most popular are international relations, psychology, business, economics, integrative arts, and biological sciences. Goucher also offers new and exciting fields, including Integrative Data Analytics, Engineering Science, Visual and Material Culture, and Professional and Creative Writing.

Please note, however, that exchange students should be prepared to take courses in areas outside their major in addition to major requirements. Be sure to check out the "Complex Problem Exploration" courses that look at current issues from a variety of perspectives.  For example, "Disease and Discrimination" explores the impact of politics, economics, and race on the issue of public health.

To search for classes, use the Course Catalog. You may want to select "Advanced Search" to narrow your options by "Department." Select "Traditional" courses, not continuing education. You can search for classes by "Period" for the term you wish to study. Semester terms are called "Spring" and "Fall." Winter term classes are not part of the semester ISEP programs.
