Florence offers unparalleled opportunities in fashion, museums and galleries, and art history, along with business, marketing, hospitality and nearly everything in between. Offering a wide variety of internship opportunities, Florence is an idyllic place to dive into your passions and gain a lasting international internship experience.

Florence offers year-round internship opportunities with an 8-week Summer Program and a 12-week semester program in the Fall & Spring. Interns begin the program with an included intensive Italian language course - one week for summer interns and two weeks for semester interns.

Complete a full-time internship abroad and lay the groundwork for your future career! Work in a global environment and learn about your field from a cross-cultural perspective.

ISEP and our partners at Global Experiences work with you to find an internship placement that matches your career aspirations, educational background and location preferences. During the ISEP application process, you will conduct a brief phone call with an ISEP Student Advisor to learn about your goals for interning abroad. If accepted, you will be guaranteed an internship in your desired career field and location.

In the months leading up to the term abroad, you will be matched with potential employers and interview with them directly to learn more about each other. If everything goes well, the internship is finalized. You will know your internship placement and role before you depart to your host country.

Interns will have a shared or single room in a shared apartment. Your roommates will be other interns with Global Experiences or students from other language or study programs in Florence, providing plenty of opportunities to meet new people from all over the world! The apartments are located throughout the main central areas. All apartments have a shared kitchen and living areas. Each apartment is different, so the location within the city and other building amenities will vary.

Housing fee is included in overall tuition cost. Prices are subject to change.

“It was my senior year of college and I couldn't let another year pass without trying out an abroad program. I was getting dual degrees in English and Music and I wanted to do something different before I graduated because I knew it would be the last chance I had before stepping in the "real world." I searched online for different programs and was immediately sold with the opportunity to travel to Florence, Italy, study the language for two months and then intern with a business in my field of study. Here's what it all turned into - 6 months that were some of the most incredible and invaluable opportunities that I'll never forget. I interned at the tourist television station in town where my mentors who pushed me to give my best. I ended up on-air reporting a few stories in Italian and English, toured with a jazz/blues band every Wednesday evening singing, hanging out, speaking Italian, and just plain living. Anyway- the point is, if you're on the fence about doing this program, don't be. This was my first step in becoming who I am today - a giant leap toward independence and taking on the world, that is, I know I was and always will be up for the challenge.”

-Danielle R. | Tourism | Virginia Tech

“This past summer was one I could never forget! My internship taught me so much about my major and even gave me the opportunity to come back and work for them. It was so amazing being able to work in another country because I learned so much beyond the office! The staff was incredibly helpful and supportive along the way. I would recommend this experience to anybody looking for growth in their major and personally!”

-Jaqueline M. | Marketing | University of Mississippi
