LIFE ABROAD
Fun and academically challenging at the same time, the 5-week CUHK International Summer School offers students an opportunity to meet new friends from around the world, learn in an open and stimulating environment, and spend a lively summer exploring a cosmopolitan city.
Excursions & Cultural Experiences
The International Summer School offers multiple excursions. Begin your experience with a fun and engaging orientation camp that includes cooking classes, temple visits, wet market tours and other cultural activities that will bring everyone closer together.
Housing & Meals
ISEP students will be housed in CUHK's on-campus residence halls.
Conveniences including transport to and from the University, on-campus transport services, medical clinics, restaurants, a bookstore, banks, a souvenir counter, a supermarket and a hair salon, are also available on campus. We recommend students bring funds to pay for food while abroad.
Explore Hong Kong
At CUHK, you can enjoy all the conveniences of Hong Kong's urban center. Students have access to art galleries and museums, including the world's first museum dedicated to climate change. On- and off-campus cultural facilities give students the opportunity to experience performing arts events and concerts.

Course Description
Students can choose from 3-6 credits (two courses) in a variety of disciplines, including Business & Finance, China Studies & Chinese Language, Environmental Studies, and Society & Human Interaction. All courses except for Cantonese and Putonghua (Mandarin) language classes are instructed in English.
The Cantonese and Putonghua (Mandarin) courses are elementary courses encouraged for students who have no prior knowledge of Chinese. These courses are designed to familiarize students with the use of Romanization, basic vocabulary and grammar points.
Students who complete the program in good standing can expect to earn 3-6 CUHK credits which ISEP recommends is the equivalent of 3-6 US credit hours.
Please note that if you use financial aid, you may be required to earn 6 US credits to be eligible for summer aid. Please speak with a qualified financial aid advisor to understand your eligibility and the requirements for using financial aid.
