Study in Eastern Europe (in English) - ISEP Exchange
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
• Enjoy the laid-back lifestyle of Blagoevgrad, a town filled with remnants of ancient civilizations and Ottoman influences, uniquely shaped by university culture at AUBG.
• Select from AUBG’s wide variety of English-taught courses in subjects such as music, physics, psychology, and business.
• Connect with local and international students through arranged activities and benefit from hands-on support from the AUBG international team.
LIVE and DINE
Share a room with one other student in an on-campus residence hall where you’ll have access to common spaces, study rooms, and affordable laundry services. Get to know other students in your residence hall while preparing a meal in the shared kitchen facilities or use your meal stipend to dine at nearby dining halls and cafes on campus. In Bulgaria, you can sample local specialties including banitsa (egg and cheese pastry), tarator (cold yogurt soup), shopska salad (chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and roasted bell peppers, topped with feta cheese), and moussaka (a traditional casserole dish with meat, eggs, and vegetables).
EXPERIENCE
Explore Blagoevgrad during orientation with a guided tour of the city center led by AUBG staff and immerse yourself in campus life through the university’s buddy program, which matches international students with local peers. Discover how you can get involved on campus by attending the welcome fair at the beginning of the semester, and enjoy local traditions, music, and festivals downtown throughout the year. Explore local hiking trails with scenic views and travel on weekends to nearby destinations like Greece, Sandanski, Macedonia, and Istanbul.
